Following the conclusion of the consultation process with a total of 118 responses, in which on the one hand the simplifications and digitalisation were welcomed, and on the other hand major concerns were expressed about the expansion of security capabilities, the FCA is currently evaluating these and preparing a report to the Federal Council. The handover to the Federal Council is planned for the 4th quarter of 2021. The decrees will be drafted at the same time. The new Customs Act and the associated decrees are expected to come into force on 1.1.2023.
